With millions of people uploading every day new videos on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, it’s now easier than ever to fall into a loop full of uninterested content. For the last few years or months, I’ve found a list of YouTubers that are unique, produce high-quality videos, and are interested enough to make you keep watching their older videos.
Those are some of the best YouTubers when it comes to my personal taste and preferences, and they do a great job at keeping me a subscriber, coming back to even rewatch some of their videos for a second and third time. There are – of course – more great content creators out there that I’ll probably skip out, but don’t hesitate to recommend them in the comment section down below.
Note: The list below has nothing to do with popularity, numbers, or putting my favourite YouTubers in a specific order. Everything’s random, and I love all of them. I will also keep updating this article whenever I find new and exciting channels.
1. You Suck At Cooking
Love it or hate it, cooking is an absolute necessity in our lives, and when it comes to food channels, there’s nothing that can easily beat the “You Suck At Cooking”. No, it doesn’t have thousands of recipes, and it surely isn’t for people who do not like humour when it comes to cooking.
This isn’t your typical food channel. It’s the ultimate channel to learn how to cook and laugh so hard your head may explode. It’s everything I ever wanted from a YouTube channel and I didn’t know what it was.
All the videos are set in the home kitchen and don’t expect anything too crazy when it comes to the visual style, as most of the videos have poor lighting, they’re not filmed in a professional space, and sometimes are kinda shaky, and that’s why they’re brilliant. The videos are also as realistic as they get and don’t expect telling you how much time you should be leaving them in the oven.
2. Dino Cornel
When it comes to nerds and techies, there’s nothing that won’t make you laugh faster than watching Dino Cornel’s short videos. Describing himself as the “ultimate nerd”, Dino Cornel is a 35-year-old video content creator who has a passion for gaming, pop culture, action figures, and whatever else has been designed for nerds like us.
When it comes to his content, Dino has a unique and funny way of answering his followers by making short videos, introducing in a matter of seconds all the sponsored gifts that he gets from known brands, and making fun of gamers who are currently in a relationship (and have no time for gaming, pure gem).
His house is full of everything; You want keyboards? He has a few. Do you want desktop PCs or laptops? Maybe gaming consoles? Whatever it is, he’s probably got more than a few.
3. Fire Department Chronicles
Hosted by Jason Patton, a veteran firefighter and paramedic, the Fire Department Chronicles gives us a hilarious insight glimpse into the world of firefighters and emergency medical services. Ironically, while Patton saves people, there were many times that he almost killed me from laughing too hard.
In his videos, Patton plays all the characters, and he does that with style. He’s so good at representing the stories and adventures of other people, wearing different clothes and his firefighter gear, that can make anyone have a good time watching his videos. Here’s another one (I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it):
He’s also raising money for charities, he’s the Vice President at Fire Dept. Coffee and he has all the skills he needs to perfectly represent the life of firefighters on the front lines with great humour, behind-the-scenes clips, highlights, the challenges firefighters and EMS face every day, and adventures of all the bad situations a person can experience.
4. NetworkChuck
If you’re looking at expanding your tech skills and you need a bit of help, then Chuck knows what’s up. The guy has an incredible way of introducing various technologies and companies, helping other people do what more advanced users have been doing for years.
Don’t expect a deep dive into any of his videos though, as he simply introduces them and gives you an easy start. From there, it’s all about searching and learning more, but you get to start fast, easy, and usually cheap or free.
From creating your own website by yourself, using AI technologies, learning about Linux, servers, cloud services, and hacking, to even building your own apps and tools, Chuck combines education with lots of fun and many, many cups of coffee. Sometimes he has company, his cute little daughters, and they, as a whole family, make absolutely great-to-watch content.
5. Cleo Abram on ‘Huge If True’
There’s so much to talk about Cleo Abram, the host behind the ‘Huge If True’, an “optimistic show about tech and science”, as she says in her channel’s description, but I’ll stick to the basics. First of all, she was a producer for Vox, and she hosted and produced the ‘Answered’, Vox’s first-ever daily show. She’s also been a co-host in ‘Glad You Asked’, but her personal YouTube channel is what we’re looking at today.
Her videos are all about learning new and exciting stuff, most commonly for things we do or use in our daily lives. From explaining how Formula 1 cars work, what is AI music, why the Ocean is deeper than we think to what we get wrong about cancer, how quantum computers work, and the truth behind psychedelics, her channel is all about learning.
Although she hasn’t uploaded lots of videos on her YouTube channel, Cleo Abram has lots of short videos that you can watch and learn new stuff, and she keeps on updating her channel with new content all the time. Apart from that, her videos are well-produced, and even when she showcases some of the most advanced technologies, she explains everything so well, that it’s hard not to get to the point of the video.
6. theRadBrad
I found theRadBrad a few years back when I didn’t have my own desktop PC and my slow old laptop couldn’t handle most of my favourite games. To check them out, see their gameplay, and their whole campaigns basically, I was watching Bradley Lamar Colburn play and describe every game, thanks to its amazing walkthrough videos.
Colburn is an American YouTuber who became pretty well-known thanks to his walkthroughs, which are continuously uploaded on his channel, theRadBrad. As of this moment of writing, his channel has over 13.6M subscribers and keeps on growing day by day. If you’re a gamer, watching his content before purchasing a game can save you money and time, and his walkthroughs are excellent when you’re stuck at some point in a game.
His content is so good, that known publications such as Rolling Stone, VentureBeat, and VG247, have all mentioned him. Even FMV Magazine has referred to Colburn as “king of the YouTube walkthrough.” If you haven’t watched his videos, give them a chance, they may surprise you.
7. Matt Rife
Matt Rife is an American comedian who’s on another level when it comes to making jokes, interacting with his audience, and making you laugh like never before. When it comes to crying from laughter, this is the ultimate YouTube channel.
One of the things that make Matt Rife such a great comedian is the way he’s making jokes about his audience, and no one can escape if he starts talking to them. It doesn’t matter your colour, country or the situation that you’re in, he’ll find a joke about it and make everyone laugh – and that with a unique perspective that no other comedian has ever pulled off.
But it’s Rife’s ability to improvise on the spot that makes everything so special in his shows. He can reply with a funny answer to almost anything his audience will say, and he can just easily open any conversation that you never know where (and how) it’s going to end.
8. FatalBreakdown
If watching incidents and accidents at night just before you sleep, then you’ll probably love the FatalBreakdown as much as I do. It’s all about incidents in caves, with titles such as, “Divers trapped after tragic mistake”, “Family time ends in freak accident”, and “Drowned in the Cave of Death”, which are more than enough to explain what you’ll be watching next.
As the description explains, it’s all about stories with visual explanations of what actually happened. The guy behind the YouTube channels says that all the videos have been edited and animated by him, and he researches and writes every story. If you weren’t afraid of such accidents, you’ll most probably be after watching a few of his videos.
9. Dave2D
With over 3.6 million subscribers, Dave2D is the best YouTube channel when it comes to finding advanced and in-to-the-point reviews for laptops, smartphones, tablets, headphones, wearables, games, and even videos with his thoughts on various tech-related topics.
Dave Lee, the guy behind the Dave2D, not only knows how to present a device and fully review it from the bottom to the top, but he also has a unique way of calming you down when he speaks, making it easier to make a decision.
Unlike many other YouTubers, which tend to try to sell as many products as they can whenever they review one, Dave doesn’t pull back from the harsh truth. If a device is no good or it isn’t worth upgrading to, you’ll know, as he goes deep into any detail there is.
10. The Linux Experiment
If you’re getting into Linux, or simply want to stay updated with everything penguin-related news, The Linux Experiment is by far one of the best YouTube channels to get started with. Although it’s about diving into the technical side of things, the content that he uploads is all about news about the operating system and all of its distros, simple tutorials, application spotlights, opinions, and more.
Simply put, The Linux Experiment is great if you’re looking for simple yet elegant tutorials, a way to discover more Linux apps and even gaming on your distro. Nick, the guy behind the YouTube channel, is an excellent teacher and very pleasant to watch, and he even has his own podcasts, uploading on a daily basis.
11. PPPeter
Although he’s not uploading very often, PPPeter, a YouTube channel made by a guy also named Peter, is all about travelling the world and reviewing the worst-reviewed hotels, restaurants, and whatever else has the lowest rating in a city or a country.
If there’s anything that you need to know about PPPeter, is that it’s not focused on a specific topic, and it’s all about discovering what’s next. With his friend, Vlad, who he barely speaks in the first videos, the two of them are the best combination when travelling together.
Be aware though, that’s not a YouTube channel for kids.
12. Code with Ania Kubów
A few years ago my brother wanted me to send him a couple of tutorials to learn how to code. It was then that I found about Ania Kubów’s YouTube channel, and boy oh boy, if it wasn’t a big surprise. Even though I knew all about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, she was so good at explaining everything, that made me sit and simply watch her whole coding BootCamp videos.
Kubów has previously worked with Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and many other companies, and she’s a software developer and course creator who helps thousands of people learn how to code, and eventually make money from their skills. She’s also pretty good at explaining every little aspect when it comes to coding, and she is an amazing teacher if you’re looking at getting into coding.
13. Abi Connick
If there’s anything that I’ve always hated, that’s Adobe Illustrator. All the times that I’ve used this tool to design my logos, I failed miserably. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time? Who knows. What I do know is that Abi Connick has simply made my life a whole lot easier, and I was able to start designing my logos better, creating my own shapes, and alternating any font with ease.
Abi has a great way of teaching people how to design their logos, use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, use specific tools from those apps, start designing a complete brand identity from the bottom to the top, and so much more. If you’re looking at designing anything by yourself, this is a great YouTube channel to start with.
When it comes to quality, Abi’s videos are on another level, with great editing and beautiful transitions and sounds that make every video pleasant to watch.
14. ActionAdventureTwins
If there’s anything that I love watching just before getting to bed, that’s the ActionAdventureTwins YouTube channel. If you’re claustrophobic, this channel ain’t for you though. It’s all about two guys, or better yet, two twins, who go on wild adventures that most people wouldn’t even dare.
More specifically, the ActionAdventureTwins love to explore caves, underwater tunnels and rivers, and even abandoned mines. They’ve also dropped a GoPro camera into a deep mystery pipe once, and it was lovely to watch. In one of their videos, they even found a skeleton from a snake, and many times they see beautiful crystals.
If you’re looking at getting some good and high anxiety, that’s a great YouTube channel.
15. Yes Theory
There are so many things to say about the ‘Yes Theory’ YouTube channel, that a book would be a greater idea than a simple blog post, but stay with me. This specific YouTube channel was created by a group of friends who found themselves broke in Montreal, sleeping in couches, to eventually create a sustainable business and grow their channel to hit millions of subscribers.
“We believe that life’s greatest moments and deepest connections exist outside your comfort zone.” That’s their slogan, and it says it all. Their channel’s core philosophy is based on the idea of seeking discomfort, stepping out of the comfort zone and embracing life to its fullest. They believe that by saying ‘yes’ to new experiences, challenges, and adventures, you can grow faster, lead to personal growth, create meaningful connections, and ultimately, a more fulfilled life.
Their content today is all about travelling and going on adventures, with titles such as, “50 hours to the world’s happiest country”, “Overnight in the loneliest hotel on earth”, and “Skydiving solo over the pyramids”. The videos are fun to watch, especially when you’ve heard about their stories and how they’ve met and started together on this beautiful and exciting journey.
16. BeardMeatsFood
Adam Moran, a British competitive eater known for his impressive eating challenges and humorous commentary, started BeardMeatsFood, a YouTube channel with him as a host travelling the world and trying to complete the biggest and hardest food challenges.
From eating 20,000 calories in one go to trying to beat the biggest dishes, Adam knows exactly how to entertain not only his channel’s audience, but everyone that’s watching him eat what feels like impossible to consume. And yeah, he eats a lot.
Although there are many great people who make food challenges, BeardMeatsFood is by far one the best out there, all thanks to Adam simply being Adam. Oh, and yeah, he has a beard.
17. Scammer Payback
Run by a cybersecurity expert who goes by the pseudonym “Pierogi”, the Scammer Payback YouTube channel is even for people who have nothing to do with technology altogether. It’s all about finding the biggest scammers in the world and putting them behind jail – just before getting them as mad as possible, or even hacking them and then showing them their faces.
A hacker who hacks other hackers and scammers, and it’s all about bringing awareness to this critical problem that most of us face every day, but with humour and fun. He has also met with other cybersecurity experts and even created a whole video with AnyDesk to pull out the biggest and largest attack on scammers.
If you want to educate yourself about all the ways scammers are trying to scam other people and take their money, this is an absolute gem. The content will basically teach you that with every phone call that you get, behind there may be a scammer who’s dedicated to stealing everything that you have.
Those are the best YouTubers I’ve been watching for the last few years or months, and they all have something unique and great to offer. Although some channels are specifically focused on a niche or topic, and may not fit for everyone, I’ll still give them a try and watch a few of their videos.
Which do you think are the best YouTubers? Do you have a list of your favourite ones? I’d love to see your recommendations in the comment section down below and I’ll probably include them in the article.
